Maths Week 5

This week for maths my goal was, Use multiplication and division strategies to compare fraction sizes with whole numbers.

(We are doing fractions)

For my Maths task we had to answer some questions ill be sharing one of mine.

1. One of the items that were donated were boxes of bottled water. A generous person donated a total 66 bottles. If each box contained 12 bottles, how many boxes did this person donate?

For this question I got 5 over 6 over 12

This strategy is hard to writing out so I will be sharing a picture of my work in my book.

Thanks for listing? How can I make my blog better each day?

Writing Week 5

 Hello Everyone

Welcome back to another blog this week for writing we are finishing of writing our speech.

I will be sharing my speech so far! (Please Ignore the spelling errors)

At least 9 million people sadly die each year from starvation.

Surprisingly 690 million people were undernourished last year with lack of food.

Children suffer each day from chronic hunger from just being at least five years old.

As In 2018 47 Million were affected by wasting.

I wake up by eating breakfast, a full lunch for school, having dinner when I get home.

People in mainly Asia, Africa don't even get to have breakfast let alone dinner.

If this continues to happen 840 million people will go hungry by 2030.

As with the outbreak of COVID-19 more people have been affected with hunger

it has put around 130 Million people at risk of suffering hunger in 2020 as losing jobs

earning not as much money.

Why are there so many hungry people? Poverty can impact on having no food and water,

along with the lack of money people are earning, makes their budget for grocery shopping

low and not enough to feed their family. Poverty means no money, no money means no food.

Around every year sessions fall and women often go without food and men go out of the country

and search for food, and not return for 2 months.

Most women farm their land for several years just to feed their entire family.

The goal here is to end hunger, to achieve food security and to improve nutrition as

2 billion people in the world don't have regular access to safe, nutritious food.

By 2030 people want to end all forms of hunger making sure everyone, especially children,

have healthy food to feed their bodies. You can help out by donating cans of food ,

helping people in the community that are suffering helping their family buy food.

Unsurprisingly, most people aren't doing that much to help Zero Hunger,

but one thing you can do is supporting local farmers and making sustainable food choices.

Here are some real world ways that people are making a difference in Zero hunger.

The community of World Vision is trying their best to Provide life saving food to

those who are impacted by conflict. The team has had emergency food bags for a long time.

They deliver food to the families that urgently need it more than others.

They also set up sustainable farming practices not just for a long time supply but also for food markets.

Can we end hunger?

Yes, I think we can if we all do something to help out even if it's little

it can still make some sort of change that the world needs.

The world needs at  least 7 Million dollars to 265 Million dollars per year if they want to end hunger.

One thing stopping hunger is drought, as a result of climate change has become one

of the most popular global causes, which affects food storage.

It causes crop failures and kills entire herds of livestock.

Dries up peoples farmland which makes it a struggle for poor communities

that have no other way to survive. We can also support food assistance programs,

they provide 20 more times food than food banks and food parties.

My thought on this global problem is that no one should ever go through this disaster,

I can't imagine it, as we all need to realise how lucky we are,

that we have the resources to eat food everyday.

Thank you for reading my blog, please leave some feedback bellow!

Whats you opinion on my speech? What do you know about Zero Hunger?

Reading Week 4 Term 2

This week for reading we did Persuasive Writing, My goal was : Use questions to challenge the text, question the author, establish the authenticity of the text and state opinions. We had to get into pairs I was with Maia, we chose to reading the story "should kids eat junk food?" me and Maia chooses this book because it looked like it would be something good to debate for, we could also share what we learnt and what we knew. Me and Maia made a screencastify about how we agree and disagree for should, kids eat junk food?

Heres the screencastify!

Do you agree that kids should eat junk food, or disagree?

Maths Week 4 T2

Hello everyone, welcome back to another blog post, this week im talking about my maths, What the goal was, what I learnt ect.

This week for maths my goal was : Use multiplication and division strategies to compare fraction sizes with whole numbers.

This week we were do fractions, I dont really like fractions but this time I quite enjoyed it. I got paired with Maia which was good because we are both pretty confident with this weeks maths task. We had to fill out the problem solving the first question was.

1. Florence had a party and organised to have pizzas delivered to her house, she specifically asked the restaurant to cut the pizzas into eighths. She counted that she had 36 pieces. How many pizzas did Florence purchase?

For this question me and Maia got 4/4 8th.

Jermaine bought a whole bunch of nerd ropes to share with his mates. He cut each rope into sixths, he ended up with 41 pieces. How many ropes did he buy?

For the second question me and Maia got 5/6 6th

Thanks for listening and letting me share a few of my maths questions!

Do you agree with me with some of these answers or disagree?

Cybersmart W3

This week in Cybersmart we made a Comic strip, I made it with Neila and Sienna, we were replying to mean comments.

Here is a ours.
What did you do for Cybersmart?

Writing T3 W3

This week for writing we were working on persuasive writing, and taking about the shapes and how we are going to shape our writing, and we are also working on Rhetorical Questions for our speeches.

We also had to find some information for our speeches we could you from, Poverty,No Hunger, Health and well-being, quality education. I picked the goal No hunger.  We also had to make a doc, find some facts about our Goal (Mine No Hunger)

Here are some facts about Zero Hunger -

-       That's 795 million people on the planet who suffer from chronic hunger.

-One in four of the world’s children suffer stunted growth. In developing countries the proportion can rise to one in three.

-  Every year, 3.1 million children (8,500 children per day) die due to poor nutrition.

- In 2011, it was determined that this rise in hunger was due to a 7 percent rise in the cost of food. So, the 2.6 percent rise in income did not help most families

Did you learn anything in this blog post?

Reading Week 3

Ki ora everyone. This week Im talking about Reading Create task!!!

This week for reading we read a book about Robots, then we had to make a Video/Screencastify about our opinion on robots and to awnser a few questions.

This weeks goal is: Understand the purposes for writing and how to achieve those purposes

Select and explore significant ideas, developing main points with specific detail.

Here is the writing of our work !

Opinion . We think that robots could help with a few good things maybe but we don't want them to take over the world. And have like Robot taking over and like having robots as a dentist or a hairdresser would just be weird and it could help in some ways like with elderly.

What we already know for sure on this topic?

  1. I know that just by looking at the book it was about robots and humans.

  2. I know that the robot could be taking the human world over that makes things easier and faster.

What do we think I know on this topic?

  1.  That the robot could be much more intelligent than humans and it could be really bad for our environment.

  1. Maybe the human could get really annoyed. What if they don't have feelings because if you try talking to them about your life they probably would not understand.

Why do we think we should not have them??

In my defence I really don't understand why we need them because they do everything for you like your chores, do your bills but maybe something goes wrong and you have to give more money to the bank or they do your chores the opposite of what you are supposed to do. But maybe some people think it is good to have a robot, but I think we don't need them because it makes you lazy.

Why do we think we needed robots??

I think that we need robots for things that are important sometimes in life like helping the old people and the people that are struggling and more. But the robots are really helpful if you need chores and bills but sometimes things can go wrong so I don't really agree but here was my way of agreeing about robots.

Thanks for listing. Whats your thought on Robots?
