Maths Week 8
Hello Everyone, this week for maths I was partnered with Isabella, for maths this week our goal was: Solve problems with fractions, decimals proportions and ratios using a broad range of strategies.
This week all we had to do was answer a few questions like -
Due to COVID-19 school closures kept 90% of all students out of school. If we apply this statistic to a random sample of 330 students, how many were kept out of school?

How can I be a good maths mate?
This week for my maths blog Im going to be talking about, how can I be a good maths mate?
I think being a good maths mate is about letting you both contribute, and making sure you both do the work, and you agree with each other. So if I was with someone and I did all the work that wouldn't really be fear at all right? As aslo listening to others. As taking there opinion not just on your own.
Whats being a good maths mate look like to you?

(We are doing fractions)
For my Maths task we had to answer some questions ill be sharing one of mine.
1. One of the items that were donated were boxes of bottled water. A generous person donated a total 66 bottles. If each box contained 12 bottles, how many boxes did this person donate?
For this question I got 5 over 6 over 12
This strategy is hard to writing out so I will be sharing a picture of my work in my book.

Writing Week 5
Hello Everyone
Welcome back to another blog this week for writing we are finishing of writing our speech.
I will be sharing my speech so far! (Please Ignore the spelling errors)
At least 9 million people sadly die each year from starvation.
Surprisingly 690 million people were undernourished last year with lack of food.
Children suffer each day from chronic hunger from just being at least five years old.
As In 2018 47 Million were affected by wasting.
I wake up by eating breakfast, a full lunch for school, having dinner when I get home.
People in mainly Asia, Africa don't even get to have breakfast let alone dinner.
If this continues to happen 840 million people will go hungry by 2030.
As with the outbreak of COVID-19 more people have been affected with hunger
it has put around 130 Million people at risk of suffering hunger in 2020 as losing jobs
earning not as much money.
Why are there so many hungry people? Poverty can impact on having no food and water,
along with the lack of money people are earning, makes their budget for grocery shopping
low and not enough to feed their family. Poverty means no money, no money means no food.
Around every year sessions fall and women often go without food and men go out of the country
and search for food, and not return for 2 months.
Most women farm their land for several years just to feed their entire family.
The goal here is to end hunger, to achieve food security and to improve nutrition as
2 billion people in the world don't have regular access to safe, nutritious food.
By 2030 people want to end all forms of hunger making sure everyone, especially children,
have healthy food to feed their bodies. You can help out by donating cans of food ,
helping people in the community that are suffering helping their family buy food.
Unsurprisingly, most people aren't doing that much to help Zero Hunger,
but one thing you can do is supporting local farmers and making sustainable food choices.
Here are some real world ways that people are making a difference in Zero hunger.
The community of World Vision is trying their best to Provide life saving food to
those who are impacted by conflict. The team has had emergency food bags for a long time.
They deliver food to the families that urgently need it more than others.
They also set up sustainable farming practices not just for a long time supply but also for food markets.
Can we end hunger?
Yes, I think we can if we all do something to help out even if it's little
it can still make some sort of change that the world needs.
The world needs at least 7 Million dollars to 265 Million dollars per year if they want to end hunger.
One thing stopping hunger is drought, as a result of climate change has become one
of the most popular global causes, which affects food storage.
It causes crop failures and kills entire herds of livestock.
Dries up peoples farmland which makes it a struggle for poor communities
that have no other way to survive. We can also support food assistance programs,
they provide 20 more times food than food banks and food parties.
My thought on this global problem is that no one should ever go through this disaster,
I can't imagine it, as we all need to realise how lucky we are,
that we have the resources to eat food everyday.
Thank you for reading my blog, please leave some feedback bellow!
Whats you opinion on my speech? What do you know about Zero Hunger?
